Job Description - Leads and participates in the work of inmate crews providing cleaning, sanitation, general maintenance and landscaping of facilities and grounds in strict accordance with security rules and procedures. This classification is distinguished from all other Custodian classifications by its primary assignment to adult correctional facilities and its participation in inmate security supervision.
Minimum Qualifications - (1) Two years of commercial, institutional or industrial custodial experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
(2) One year of experience with Pima County as a Custodian.
(3) Two years of experience in the direct supervision of unskilled or semi-skilled workers or laborers engaged in grounds or facilities maintenance or custodial activity.
Job Description - This classification processes individuals (detainees, arrestees and prisoners) into the County detention facility by initiating required records, based upon law enforcement officer documentation, court and other agency manual and computer-based records, warrants and related interviews and preliminary mental/medical screening of individuals. This classification differs from other process-oriented classifications by its direct contact and interaction with detainees, arrestees and prisoners and the strict legal requirements for timely and accurate record-keeping and related functions.
Minimum Qualifications - A High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Certification. Proof must be submitted at the time of application.
Job Description - Provides administrative, investigative, or operations support within an assigned unit in direct support of law-enforcement or corrections operations, not requiring commissioned or certification as a law enforcement or corrections officer. It is distinguished from the Office Support and Administrative Services classifications by the nature of the specialized duties and requirements of the assigned work-unit in law enforcement or corrections support.
Minimum Qualifications - (1) A High School diploma or General Education Development (GED) certification and three years of public contact experience.
(2) Four years of direct public contact experience requiring explanation and interpretation of rules, regulations and policies to the public.
(3) Two years of experience as a certified law enforcement or corrections officer.
Job Description - Serves as advisor and clinical psychological specialist to the Pima County Sheriff's Department staff at all levels by providing a variety of professional psychological services.
Minimum Qualifications - An earned Ph.D. degree in psychology from an accredited college or university and one year of post-doctoral experience as a consultant to a law enforcement or governmental agency or as a police psychologist.
